The New Britain Police Department Honor Guard is a specially trained ceremonial team designed to render honors, preserve tradition, stimulate Esprit-de-corps and instill pride. The primary roles for the New Britain Police Honor Guard are to provide funeral honors for fallen comrades, serve as the "guardians of the colors" by displaying and escorting the National, State and City flags on ceremonial occasions and official functions.

The New Britain Police Department Honor Guard serve as ambassadors to the public, presenting a positive image of the Department at various parades and ceremonies along with both public and private functions throughout the year. The Honor Guard accomplishes this by providing guidance and uniformity in the conduct of ceremonies and by establishing a specific sequence of events in accordance with long standing traditions.

Lt. John Rodriguez is the point of contact for any Honor Guard requests or inquires and can be reached at (860) 826-3070 or via e-mail at John.Rodriguez@NewBritainCT.gov
