Chief of Police
The Community Services Bureau is charged with overall responsibility for the development, coordination and conduct of Crime Prevention and Community Relations programs involving crime reduction and police/community understanding.
Major tasks and activities include:
- The organization and maintenance of Neighborhood Crime Watch groups and the provision of residential/business security assessments.
- The development and presentation of prevention outreach and special interest programs serving school children, senior citizens, church and civic organizations, tenant associations and local business groups.
- The handling of citizen complaint cases requiring impartial dispute arbitration and/or Polish/Spanish-speaking interpretation.
- Other tasks include: internship programs, recruiting and job fairs, as well as other police/community related functions.
